Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our phlebotomy staff in outpatients, wards, and community settings. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months previous phlebotomy experience, including paediatric and domiciliary experience. A full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for regular travel to community clinic locations.

This position is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check and requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a large team.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead and manage the phlebotomy team, ensuring efficient service delivery and maintaining professional standards.
  • To provide effective communication and liaison with staff, internal users, and external partners.
  • To identify and resolve issues, errors, and disciplinary matters within the phlebotomy team.
  • To participate in monitoring changes and implementing improvements to develop service needs.
  • To ensure adherence to quality standards, health and safety documentation, and patient confidentiality.
Requirements
  • GCSE O levels or equivalent, including English.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 12 months previous phlebotomy experience.
  • Paediatric and domiciliary experience.
  • Basic CPR and First Aid knowledge and competency.
