Senior Ecologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to join our team at Greenbridge Recruitment. This exciting opportunity will allow you to lead and support a team of ecologists in supporting clients across various sectors.

About the role:

You will be based in a hybrid-working environment, offering up to 3 days per week of remote work, and will be part of a fun, friendly, and forward-thinking team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and delivering complex contracts
• Advising clients on constraints and survey requirements
• Coordinating and undertaking protected species surveys and mitigation projects
• Preparing ecology chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments
• Identifying and exploring commercially efficient and cost-effective project solutions for clients and their design teams
• Drafting high-quality reports and reviewing technical work
• Contributing to business development strategy delivery by costing and tendering for work and finding new ways for the business to grow

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A degree-level qualification in a relevant subject and professional membership
• 4+ years of UK Ecology experience
• Project and team management experience
• Excellent knowledge of UK and European environmental legislation
• Excellent fieldwork and report writing skills, including protected species surveys, EPSM applications, ES chapters, and ecological management plans
• Ideal experience with at least one Protected Species or Conservation Licence, or be working towards it
• Experienced in client and stakeholder engagement
• A full clean UK driving licence and CSCS card

We offer a competitive salary of circa £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, plus benefits including 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days over 3 years, enhanced maternity pay, excellent training, and opportunities for career development.
