Global Banking School is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Computing to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to our programs. Responsibilities include teaching across a range of computing-related modules and contributing to curriculum development.

We have achieved outstanding results in the National Student Survey, scoring above the sector average in all themes. We are currently seeking both Full Time and Hourly Paid Lecturers.

Please note that flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials as needed.
  • Manage and lead modules/units.
  • Stay up-to-date with specific and pedagogic innovations.
  • Contribute to engaging and retaining students as part of a team.
  • Use various learning and teaching methods/materials, including live online learning.
  • Attend meetings to contribute to decision-making and develop working relationships.
  • Participate in staff development activities and peer observations.

Essential:

  • Hold qualifications at least at master's level in the relevant subject area (e.g., computing, IT, or computer science) and ideally hold a PhD or demonstrate equivalent high-level professional experience.
  • Good knowledge of one or more areas: programming and software development, web development and digital marketing, database systems, cloud computing, networking and cybersecurity, IoT and emerging technologies, business analysis and digital transformation.
  • Experience teaching in the wider subject area.
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses.
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.

Desirable:

  • Teaching qualifications: PGCHE, MA in HE Practice, or FHEA.
  • Experience working in the industry of your subject areas.
