About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Homicide Family Caseworker to join our team at Victim Support. As a key member of our Homicide Service, you will provide high-quality, bespoke support to service users who have been bereaved by or witnessed homicide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a complex caseload of service users, providing trauma-informed advocacy and support to meet their individual needs.
- Work closely with Police Major Crime teams to provide briefings on the work of the Homicide Service.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including police, healthcare professionals, and other agencies.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs for staff and volunteers.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of the Homicide Service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience of working in a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting, delivering services to vulnerable individuals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with service users, colleagues, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality services.
- Understanding of the impact of crime on victims and their families, with a commitment to providing trauma-informed support.
- Valid driving license and use of a car, with ability to travel to home visits within and occasionally outside of the area.
