We are a leading provider of surveying services, seeking an experienced Structural Building Survey Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary range of £20,000-£30,000 per year.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting structural surveys, collecting data, and assisting senior surveyors and engineers in diagnosing and recording structural conditions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting surveyors and engineers in fieldwork, using various surveying equipment and technologies.
  • Collecting core and dust samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Recording defects on drawings and collaborating with the AutoCAD department.

Data Collection and Processing:

  • Gathering and processing site data from surveys for engineering, construction, and development projects.
  • Inputting and updating survey data as requested by the surveyor or engineer.
  • Ensuring data accuracy and compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Survey Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

  • Operating and maintaining a variety of surveying tools and equipment.
  • Performing routine calibration and minor maintenance on instruments to ensure proper functionality.
  • Troubleshooting basic equipment issues during fieldwork.

Support for Senior Surveyors/Engineers:

  • Collaborating closely with senior surveyors and project managers to meet project timelines and specifications.
  • Assisting in setting up and managing equipment in challenging environments.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Conducting surveys in line with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Adhering to health and safety protocols, particularly when working in hazardous environments or high-traffic areas.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Surveying, NDT, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Practical experience in surveying or civil engineering projects.
  • Proficient in using computers, tablets, and survey/NDT software.
