About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Scientist/Team Leader - Contaminated Sites Consultant to join our team in Perth, Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead field investigation programs, manage laboratory data, and develop technical reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage field investigation programs and review laboratory data, including tabulation and interpretation of analytical results.
  • Prepare technical reports for contamination, acid sulfate soils, and hazmat management plans.
  • Develop human health and ecological risk assessments, as well as conceptual site models.
  • Conceive, design, and manage large projects, evaluating and analyzing field and technical data.
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders, mentoring junior scientists and fostering their professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 10+ years' experience in contaminated sites remediation, with a sound working knowledge of NEPM 2013, HEPA 2020, DWER 2021, and DoH 2021 guidance.
  • Experience in assessing and remediating contaminated sites in Australia, with expertise in acid sulfate soils and hazmat audit and removals supervision.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, regulators, and colleagues.
