About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Health Physician to join our team at Ellie Mental Health - 178. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational health services to our clients and promoting the services available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Occupational Health Services
    • Provide medical advice and guidance to clients on occupational health issues, including pre-employment, sickness and absence management, and ill health retirement.
    • Act as a Corporate Medical Advisor to private and public sector organizations, dealing with occupational health issues and providing medical advice on disability claims.
  • Provide Clinical Advice
    • Offer medical advice to client insurance companies on long-term disability and accident claims.
    • Provide clinical advice to Pension Trustees on fitness for entry into pension schemes and on claims for early ill health retirement.
  • Health Surveillance and Medical Services
    • Provide health surveillance services at a physician level, including reviews and assessments.
    • Attend client premises to provide clinic services or case management advice.
  • Professional Witness and Liaison
    • Act as a professional witness for clients in judicial environments, such as employment tribunals.
    • Liaise with administrators and team leaders regarding client and patient queries.
Requirements
  • Experience operating as a client CMO is required.
  • Health surveillance experience is essential.
  • HAVS 4 qualification is a must.
  • Asbestos experience is required.
  • Dip OccMed/AFOM/MFOM qualification is the minimum.
  • Current GMC registration is necessary.
  • Current MDU restriction is required.
  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role in the private sector for at least 2 years is essential.
  • Good understanding of employment law is required.
  • Knowledge of Outlook and Word is essential, and knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is desired.
  • Full UK driving license is necessary.
