MIG Welder Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team at Pertemps Bond. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out hot and cold mechanical repairs to loading trolleys and containers within a warehouse and workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welding and fabricating loading trolleys and containers
  • Carrying out both hot and cold mechanical repairs
  • Operating a Forklift Truck to assist with loading/unloading
  • Assembly and installation of fabricated products as required
  • Ensuring health and safety practices are followed
  • Meeting daily targets and demand deadlines
  • Conducting daily checks on all welding equipment
  • Supervisory duties when covering for the Site Manager
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Welder/Fabricator
  • Ability to work with a range of materials, including steel and zinc coatings
  • Competency in MIG and TIG welding
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings (basic level preferred)
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence is advantageous
  • Experience working in a workshop environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills to manage customer expectations
