Job Summary

Lancaster City Council is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance and Repair Technician to join our Repairs and Maintenance team.

This permanent position offers an attractive salary package, with an estimated annual salary of £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience. You will work 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, and Friday, 8.00am to 3.30pm), however you are required for operational purposes to work 39 hours per week.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance, with experience working on residential properties. They must also have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a flexible approach to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carrying out maintenance works to Lancaster City Council's housing and non-housing stock.
  • Maintaining high standards of work quality, health and safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Working effectively with colleagues and other departments to achieve team goals.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 in Installing and Commissioning Electro-technical Systems or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical maintenance.
  • Fully conversant with the latest IEE regulations (18th edition inclusive of Amendments).
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
