We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Ford, a category D men's prison located in the UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing triage and screening, and assessment based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental Health policy.
  • Offer health advice and guidance to patients and colleagues.
  • Participate in the development of local operating procedures to ensure clear pathways for clinicians.
  • Manage and resolve complaints and concerns related to mental health in a timely and effective manner.
  • Lead treatment or care within mental health services.
  • Ensure waiting lists are well-managed, minimizing waiting times for patients.
  • Provide medicines management and advice, including supporting medicine administration.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of care by implementing protocols and health education activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, planning, and treatment.
  • Provide clinical supervision to the team and manage meetings to ensure engagement from other departments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council).
  • BSc or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of providing supervision and teaching/mentoring.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge and competence.
