About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at NHS Lanarkshire. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for managing and delivering care to a defined caseload of clients, ensuring a high standard of quality care and working in partnership with other disciplines and agencies.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health nursing, with experience in leading and managing teams. You will be responsible for the appraisal, management, and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners, and clinical support workers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver care to a defined caseload of clients
  • Lead and manage teams of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners, and clinical support workers
  • Appraise, manage, and clinically supervise staff
  • Work in partnership with other disciplines and agencies to ensure high-quality care
  • Develop and implement care plans to meet the needs of clients
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration Mental Health/Learning Disabilities
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
  • Postgraduate expertise within speciality/area of practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery
  • Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others
  • Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology
