Job Title: Management Accountant

Job Summary:
Our client, an organisation in the Adult Social Care and Health department, is seeking a Management Accountant to join their team. As a Management Accountant, you will provide management information and support the budgeting and forecasting processes within Community Equipment Services (CES).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial and operational information to partners and consolidate reports.
  • Offer training and coaching to enhance the organisation's financial and commercial decision-making capabilities.
  • Liaise with service managers, finance colleagues, IT suppliers, external auditors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor and report operational costs, identifying efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts.
  • Develop commercial management accounting, including performance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial and operational improvement.
  • Support the development and update of management information systems and propose system improvements.
  • Produce ad hoc analysis and responses to information requests.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to review and assess business processes and results.
  • Ensure compliance with Data Protection and Confidentiality policies.
  • Support the organisation's Green Commitment Policy, contributing to reducing energy consumption and waste.

Person Specification:
  • High-level educational achievement, progress towards completion of a recognised accountancy professional membership qualification.
  • Demonstrable understanding of management accounting and financial modelling.
  • Self-starter with initiative, able to improve current practises.
  • Strong data analysis and manipulation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to advise and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and coordinate multiple outcomes.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in financial and operational performance reporting, analysing financial and operational data.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside normal office hours and during critical reporting periods.

Working Arrangements:
