About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our expanding team at Andrews Recruitment Group. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and contract supervision of electrical building services on a range of complex and highly technical projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, retail, sports/leisure, hotels, industrial, mission critical, storage/archive, and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop conceptual and detailed electrical design solutions that meet client briefs and adhere to industry standards.
  • Carry out detailed electrical services design and calculations using design software such as Amtech, Hevacomp, IES, Relux, Dialux, or similar tools.
  • Conduct technical and quality reviews of project information to ensure high standards are maintained and client expectations are met.
  • Produce electrical specifications, schedules, reports, and technical papers that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of fee submissions and project bids, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to secure repeat business and referrals.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and guidance at both project and group levels, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, condition reports, dilapidation surveys, and pre-acquisition inspections to inform project decisions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and BIM360, and stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • HNC/Degree in Building Services, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Working toward Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
  • Membership in professional institutions such as CIBSE or IET is highly desirable, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Registration with the Engineering Council is preferred, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Experience & Skills
  • Proficient in producing detailed electrical design solutions that meet client needs and industry standards.
  • Experienced in managing M&E design projects, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Design Standards, and Guides, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Amtech, Hevacomp/IES, AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new software and technologies as needed.
