Job Overview

Choices College (formerly Project Choice) is a supported internship programme aimed at supporting young adults with learning difficulties, disabilities, or autism to become employment ready.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Area Manager to deliver the College's outcomes and ensure an employment transition rate of above 75% for students.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the programme meets the needs of students, employers, and regulatory bodies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support, monitor, and record individual students' progress, reinforcing employability skills through classroom sessions.
  • Deliver bespoke training to mentors and source new employers for placements/employment transitions.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience/knowledge from working in a similar area.
  • TSI trained with evidence of outcomes or similar experience (S/PGCE).
  • Teaching qualification or relevant experience related to young people with learning disabilities, difficulties, or Autism.

Desirable Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to teach/support interns with learning disability, difficulty, or Autism in work-based learning methods.
  • Ability to teach/train mentors in supported internship methodology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with stakeholders and providing information and advice.
