About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cyber Security Communications Specialist to join our team at the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). As a key member of our External Affairs team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our External Affairs strategy, aligned to our overarching communications and organisational strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Speechwriting and Communications: Write agenda-setting speeches for the CEO and senior NCSC representatives, working with a range of internal stakeholders to ensure speaking engagements and speeches align with our strategic priorities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective and proactive relationships with key organisations and teams to support our organisation's objectives.
  • Research and Reporting: Research and report on opportunities and risks for our relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Communications Strategy: Contribute to the development of stakeholder mapping, and development of a detailed two-way engagement plan for each stakeholder group.
  • Event Planning: Assist in the production of briefings, events and other communications material for key stakeholders to promote better understanding of key issues and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Experience: Experience working in a fast-moving communications environment, with a proven track record of speechwriting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to bring together the bigger picture on national and international cyber security issues.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of cyber security and the ability to develop policy-specific knowledge to effectively understand the potential for new and existing stakeholder development.
