The Role

We're seeking a dedicated and skilled Computer Science Teacher to deliver outstanding teaching and learning to Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students. You will inspire students to engage with computational thinking, programming, and the wider implications of technology in society.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach a range of computing topics, including programming languages such as Python, Java, and web development.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, offering timely feedback and guidance.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and curiosity.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science examinations.
  • Keep up to date with educational trends and technological advancements in the field of computer science.
  • Participate in school activities and events, including extra-curricular clubs and ICT-related activities.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Essential:
    • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
    • A degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
    • Experience in teaching Computer Science at secondary level (KS3, KS4, and preferably KS5).
    • Strong subject knowledge in programming languages and computer systems.
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    • Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with industry-standard software and programming languages.
    • Knowledge of the latest technological trends and educational software.
    • A passion for encouraging girls and underrepresented groups to engage in computing.
