At M-EC Consulting Development Engineers, we are seeking a highly skilled Flood Risk Engineer to join our team in Leicestershire or Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take on a challenging role and contribute to the growth and success of our company.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing residential, commercial, and public sector projects, writing Flood Risk Assessment reports, developing surface water drainage strategy designs, and assisting with project management. They will also be required to work within all offices as needed and work additional hours if necessary to deliver all responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage numerous residential, commercial, and public sector related projects to meet productivity and growth aspirations.
  • Write Flood Risk Assessment reports for strategic development schemes in Flood Zones 1, 2, & 3.
  • Develop surface water drainage strategy designs for proposed development sites, incorporating sustainable drainage techniques.
  • Assist with project management to company standards, including administration, client liaison, quality, fee proposals, budgeting, resource management, team briefing, and invoicing.
Requirements
  • Educated to a minimum standard of Degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject.
  • Relevant experience, including design, management, and knowledge of flood risk/hydrology standards.
  • Knowledge of current legislation, drainage design standards, and good practice.
  • Proficient in the use of Micro Drainage and flood modelling software packages.
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD software.
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written skills, particularly in report writing and client liaison.
  • Hold a full clean driving license and have a private car with business insurance.
