Injection Moulding Technician

We are seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Technician to join our team at Meridian Business Support. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the production team in the development of new tooling and moulding programs.
  • Perform safe and efficient tool changes, including last-off-to-first-off, using pre-set programs.
  • Ensure all ancillary machinery is set up correctly.
  • Handle materials, including colour changes, mixing, drying, and granulating.
  • Verify that first-off products meet quality standards.
  • Utilize staff to assist with tool changes, material changes, and general department operations.
  • Participate in process improvement activities.
  • Start-up and shut-down the entire department, including moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
  • Accurately record and report shift production metrics.
  • Troubleshoot and correct machine settings.
Requirements:
  • At least 6 months of experience setting injection moulding machines.
  • PTIC or BPTA certification or equivalent manufacturing qualification.
  • Good understanding of the injection moulding process.
  • Experience with Engel injection moulding machines and robots, with training provided on specific machines.
  • Ability to recognize process faults and component defects and rectify them.
