About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate young carers support professional to join our dynamic team in Islington & Camden. As a key member of our Islington & Camden Young Carers Service (ICYC), you will contribute to the provision of holistic support for children negatively impacted by their caring role.

Job Summary

This exciting opportunity involves providing child-centred assessments, plans, and interventions to support young carers to thrive and reduce the impact of caring responsibilities. You will also support the delivery of training and awareness-raising sessions to relevant professionals and provide specialist help where necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake assessments and develop plans to meet the unique needs of each young carer, ensuring their individual circumstances are taken into account.
  2. Work collaboratively with families, communities, and partners to deliver culturally sensitive and therapeutic support that meets the diverse needs of young carers.
  3. Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including young people, their families, and professionals, to ensure seamless support delivery.
  4. Participate in training and awareness-raising sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills, and share best practices with colleagues.
  5. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote safeguarding and safer working practices within our services.
Requirements
  • Good understanding of national and local initiatives supporting young carers and their families.
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with young people, communities, and partners.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to respond effectively to new and challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competencies in undertaking assessments and plans within scope of practice.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be based at Whitecross Studios, London EC1Y 8ST. We offer a competitive salary of £29,394.04 per annum, as well as a range of benefits including 28 days' holiday per year (plus Bank holidays), family-friendly policies, cycle to work scheme, pension, death in service benefit, discounted health scheme, and free confidential counselling service.
