Job Opportunity: Workshop Engineer

Are you a skilled mechanic or technician looking to transition into a career in Material Handling Engineering? A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Workshop Engineer to join their team at a state-of-the-art facility in the Castleford area.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance, plant, or similar, with a focus on technical experience in engines, electrics, and diagnostics. A full apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Plant, or similar are essential.

The role involves servicing and repairing material handling equipment, ordering parts efficiently, and ensuring accurate stock levels and movement records. The Workshop Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, reporting any unsafe practices or potential hazards, and attending training courses to stay up-to-date with the latest equipment knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and repair of material handling equipment
  • Ordering of parts and maintaining accurate stock levels
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and reporting hazards
  • Attending training courses to stay up-to-date with equipment knowledge

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Plant, or similar
  • Served full apprenticeship
  • Technical experience in engines, electrics, and diagnostics
