Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef/Cook to join our team at Redwood Health Care LTD. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality meals to our residents, ensuring their dietary needs are met, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for our residents, following a four-week rotating menu
  • Cater to special dietary requirements, such as modified texture meals, religious preferences, fortification, diabetes, and other needs
  • Ensure all temperature records are up to date, cleaning rotas are maintained, and food safety requirements are met
  • Minimize waste and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Supervise kitchen assistants, order stock, and manage the kitchen
  • Ensure the kitchen area is always clean and tidy

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar environment, preferably in healthcare
  • Hold a food hygiene certificate (Level 2 & above or similar)
  • Understanding of Safer Foods Better Business
  • Experience of varying dietary requirements
  • Empathy towards elderly residents
