The Senior Financial Data Specialist plays a critical role in enhancing financial reporting and insights for management by leveraging business intelligence tools, process flows, and data analysis. This position requires strong collaboration with finance teams, data modeling, and training to support financial planning and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement business intelligence reports and dashboards tailored to financial metrics and KPIs
- Collaborate with finance teams to gather requirements, understand data needs, and provide insights to support financial planning and analysis
- Design and create data models to efficiently retrieve and analyze large sets of financial data
- Provide training and support to finance team members on use of business intelligence tools and reports
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for finance process improvement
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent related work experience
- 5+ years experience with finance, accounting, and/or process improvement
- Experience as a Power BI developer or similar role
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial statement analysis
- Advanced Excel Proficiency
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, power query, and data visualization techniques
- Other knowledge of systems such as Alteryx, SQL, Database management, Tableau
- Advanced skills in managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility
