About the Role:

CSA Group is seeking a skilled Functional Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for delivering hardware and software safety assessments to electrical/electronic or programmable electronics products to Functional Safety Standards, particularly IEC 61508.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional safety assessments for functional safety SIL designated products
  • Provide assessments and verification to IEC/ISO published standards
  • Deliver FMEA functional safety analysis
  • Identify safety-critical functions
  • Respond to technical sales enquiries
  • Prepare project quotation proposals and scope of deliverables for clients, working with the CSA commercial team as necessary
  • Conduct on-site assessments and/or technical audits at client facilities
  • Manage client relations, including the determination of their assessment needs and the setting of appropriate service delivery expectations
  • Share knowledge with other staff and CSA Group as a whole through written or verbal communications and training events

Requirements:

  • Degree in electrical/electronics, software engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Product Design
  • In-depth understanding of electrical/electronic circuitry
  • Likely to have a background in electronic design, preferably with software development
  • Familiar with embedded hardware design and software design
  • Basic understanding of software languages, such as C, C+, etc.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once
  • Awareness of Functional Safety standards such as IEC61508, ISO13849, ISO26262 would be a bonus
  • Good communicator, works well as part of a team
