Senior Podiatrist Offender Health Specialist

As a Senior Podiatrist Offender Health Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional podiatric care to patients within HMP settings. This includes assessing and treating patients, maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner, and ensuring high standards of clinical care.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Manage your clinical caseload, including waiting lists, in partnership with HMP sites.
- Maintain professional standards and comply with PPH policies and procedures.
- Be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of your work, ensuring high standards of clinical care for patients under your management.
- Accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, organizing their care effectively and efficiently.
- Assess capacity, gain informed consent, and work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, using investigative and analytical skills, and formulate individualized management and treatment plans.
- Deliver a range of podiatric treatments, including nail surgery, MSK/biomechanics, wound care, diabetes care, and routine care based on patient needs.
- Provide advice and instruction to patients to facilitate self-care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and carers to ensure understanding of conditions.
- Provide specialist advice, teaching, and training to the MDT as required.
- Maintain your CPD by keeping up-to-date with trends and developments, incorporating them into your work as necessary.
- Participate in the CPD training program by attending presentations, training sessions, and external courses, practicing reflective practice.
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a coordinated service.
- Participate in staff appraisal and Personal Development Plan (PDP).
- Evaluate your work and current practices through evidence-based projects, audit, and outcome measures.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management, applying it to your work situation.
- Represent Premier Physical Healthcare externally regarding the podiatry service provided to patients.
- Promote understanding of Premier Physical Healthcare's aims to relatives and carers as appropriate.
- Be responsible for your area of work, planning and organizing efficiently and effectively.
- Decide priorities for patient management, ensuring they align with best clinical practice.
- Be responsible for equipment used in carrying out podiatric duties, adhering to company policy and competence requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, communicating assessment and treatment results to relevant bodies.
- Collect data and statistics, participating in audits and outcome measures.
- Aware of Health and Safety aspects, implementing policies to improve safety, recording and reporting accidents.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, reviewing and updating as necessary, following general professional guidelines and standards.
