Senior Electronics Engineer

£65-85,000 p.a.

Profile:

Laboris Solutions is seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to join a leading company in the development of industry-leading products. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong technical background and experience in product development.

Requirements
  1. At least five years' experience of product development in an industrial setting.
  2. Breadth of technical knowledge in both hardware and software development.
  3. Strong theoretical knowledge in electronics and computer science.
  4. Experience of developing products for industrial applications.
  5. Practical and dynamic.
  6. Experience ranging from working on challenging projects with autonomy, to operating as part of a team employing development methodologies (e.g. Agile).
  7. Able to lead projects.
  8. Relevant project management or operational experience.
  9. Experience of supporting product introduction and production is an advantage.
Education:

Educated to degree or masters level in electronic engineering, computer science or other relevant engineering or applied science discipline. Ideally graduated with a 2.1 or higher from a Russell Group university.

Technical skills:
  1. C, C++, C# - programming firmware, microcontrollers, DSP and processors, Linux, Windows, Altium, EasyPC, OrCAD, SolidWorks, Power over Ethernet, Bluetooth, WIFI, GSM, 3G, Mesh networking.
  2. Use of GIT for version and revision control of software development is a must.
  3. Firmware & embedded systems from components to microcontrollers and ASIC/FPGA/SoC through to entire systems. Sensors, sensor networks, wireless networks, Real time location systems (RTLS).
  4. Design and development of analogue and RF electronics operating over a broad range of frequencies from 1 GHz to 8 GHz.
  5. Development of products from concept through to production. Ideally sensor solutions, or industrial internet of things (IIOT).
  6. Capable of putting prototype systems together quickly.
  7. Capable of optimising algorithms and code to produce a high-performance system.
  8. Design and development of wireless devices (e.g. sensor networks), including Bluetooth, GSM, 3G, WiFi, industrial Bluetooth, wireless HART.
  9. Development of products for harsh environments and certification, e.g. IECEx, ATEX, DNV-GL etc.
