About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced educator to join our team as a Law Lecturer at the Cardiff International Study Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for teaching and learning to contribute to the delivery of high-quality education.

As a Tutor in the Business, Law and Humanities department, you will be responsible for teaching modules on various programs, including the level-3 International Foundation Year (IFY), level-4 International Year 1 (IY1), and level-6 Pre-Master's Programme (PMP).

The main law modules in the Centre include contract law, public law, criminal law, legal foundations, and business law, which covers company law, equity and trusts, and other areas relevant to businesses in the UK. Your ability to teach one or more of these subjects would be advantageous.

In this role, you will play a key part in the operations of the law team by contributing to teaching classes, developing teaching materials, and assessments. You will empower students to reach their full potential by providing student-centred, engaging, and innovative learning experiences.

About the Role

  2. Contribute to the delivery and development of modules and teaching sessions offered by the Cardiff ISC.
  3. Prepare and deliver teaching, including lectures, seminars, and tutorial sessions, with a teaching load of up to 25 hours per week.
  4. Mark students' formative and summative assessment submissions, providing timely and useful feedback to students on their performance, including writing regular student reports and tutorials.
  5. Develop and update course material for modules and teaching sessions, including module material for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  6. Implement quality assurance procedures at the module and teaching session level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of courses.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and performance.
  8. Attend and contribute to standardisation, moderation, and other quality assurance meetings.
  9. Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff, contributing to the effective overall management of the programme and student life cycle.
  10. Maintain and submit accurate and timely records of teaching and other activities.
  11. Participate in regular training and development activities and maintain a log of these activities.

About You

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area is required (Essential).
  • Teaching qualification is essential for level 6 delivery and desirable for level 3 (Desirable).
  • Experience of teaching in UK higher, further education, or sixth form is essential (Essential).

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is £33,000 - £42,000 per annum based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on experience.
