Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Electrical and Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and control systems engineering and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and install electrical and control systems for capital projects
  • Ensure designs and installations comply with site engineering standards
  • Manage contract engineers and EPC contractors to ensure designs meet site standards
  • Liaise with maintenance and compliance teams to ensure proposals align with site requirements
  • Control budgets and report project progress
  • Maintain functional safety compliance and ensure system certification
  • Provide technical input into site standards to ensure they remain up-to-date
  • Effectively plan resources for all electrical and instrumentation activity
  • Ensure IS calculations and loop drawings are updated
  • Provide hands-on support during project handover and training operational teams
  • Meet qualification and quality obligations for all project I&E activity
  • Provide technical guidance to departments and support maintenance and compliance teams

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control – preferably chartered
  • Proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects
  • Experience with permit to work systems, budget control, and reporting
  • Leadership experience with discipline engineers in a project environment
  • Installation experience in hazardous areas (ATEX)
  • Familiarity with site commissioning and fault finding
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Planning and computer literacy skills

Salary: £62,000 - £82,000 per annum
