About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Bid Writer to join our team at NSS Group. As a Bid Writer, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting compelling and well-structured proposals to secure new contracts and win additional business for our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify business opportunities and gather information to understand the requirements of the bid
  • Write and edit bid documents/proposals, including pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and invitations to tender (ITTs)
  • Work closely with various departments and stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure the bid meets all requirements
  • Develop and manage timelines to ensure all bid components are completed on time
  • Ensure all bid documents are clear, concise, and compelling, and adhere to the company's standards and guidelines
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to support the bid
  • Set up new tender portals and ensure company profiles are accurate
  • Raise and review clarifications and communicate information to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure all internal systems and proposals are kept up to date and managed appropriately
  • Follow NSS Values and Standard Procedures
  • Meet KPIs and SLAs as agreed with management from time to time

Requirements

  • Proven capability in planning, producing, and delivering compliant bids with the ability to manage multi-workstream opportunities – preferably within the public sector
  • Highly motivated, innovative with a can-do attitude
  • A level or higher in English, Communications, Business
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent software packages: PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • Previous experience of dealing with customers, and excellent telephone manner with clear diction
  • Ability to work independently and organise own priorities
  • Has a methodical approach, excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, ability to cope calmly under pressure
  • Ability to meet KPIs and SLAs
  • Ability to work with and across all levels of the business
