Counsellor on Placement

About the Role

As a Counsellor on Placement with Place2Be, you will provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in our partner schools. We are committed to improving the mental health and well-being of the children we work with, and we believe that our organisation's adoption of the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy sets us apart.

We offer a high level of support to our counsellors on placement, including regular supervision, tailored training workshops, and a well-recognised clinical placement. Our comprehensive induction programme ensures that you are well-prepared to work with our team, and our clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.

As a Counsellor on Placement, you will be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children, offering one-to-one counselling. Placements are term time only and run for one academic year, with opportunities to stay with us beyond that time.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in our partner schools
• Work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children, offering one-to-one counselling
• Participate in regular supervision and tailored training workshops
• Undertake clinical supervision at the end of each day

Requirements

• Be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist, or Clinical Psychologist, or studying towards one of these professions
• Have relevant experience of direct work with children
