This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the paediatric and neonatal organ donation and transplantation strategy, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive best practice in this field.
Main DutiesAs a senior nurse and autonomous practitioner, you will be responsible for:
- Providing expert professional advice to specialist nurses in Organ Donation and Transplantation across the UK
- Working with the National Clinical Lead for Paediatrics and other key stakeholders to negotiate and influence change, ensuring appropriate systems, guidance, and processes are in place to deliver good quality clinical care
- Leading the development and implementation of a national paediatric and neonatal organ donation strategy that complements the organisational and Transplantation strategy across the UK
- Commissioning and leading research to improve organ donation, transplantation, and utilisation rates from the paediatric and neonatal population
You will be required to participate in the on-call service to facilitate organ donation, working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
About YouWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced nurse with a strong background in paediatric and neonatal nursing, who is committed to improving organ donation and transplantation rates.
Key requirements include:
- Evidence of commitment to Organ Donation and transplantation
- Thorough understanding of issues affecting Paediatric and Neonatal Organ Donation
- Awareness of current professional development within Paediatric and Neonatal Nursing in the NHS
- Experience of implementing effective change within a team or across an organisation
- Experience of working with Information Technology using Microsoft Office packages
Relevant qualifications and training include:
- Relevant recognised post graduate Nursing registration (NMC)
- Teaching qualification or teaching experience in area of expertise
- Possession of a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in an allied health related field
- Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
