Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the glasshouse, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Manage the glasshouse P&L account, setting and delivering the yearly budget.
  • Proactively maintain a close relationship with the technical team to ensure produce is safe, traceable, and compliant.
  • Recruit and manage labour, including planning and liaising with labour providers.
  • Line manage the management team, supervisors, and glasshouse workers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and manage short and long-term work and the labour planner.
  • Manage the site labour and productivity tracking system, producing accurate reports.
  • Forecast production and review sale prices for crops in conjunction with the Commercial team.
  • Develop and maintain external relationships with suppliers.

Person Specification

  • Minimum 3 years experience in an operations management role supplying UK supermarkets.
  • Experience in a glasshouse environment is preferred.
