Manual Machinist Job Role

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the role of Manual Machinist in our toolroom team.

About the Position:
  • Key responsibilities include performing manual machining tasks, including milling, turning, and surface grinding, to high quality standards.
  • The successful candidate will be required to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • As part of this role, you will work independently with minimal supervision, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards set by management.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • A time served apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in manual machining (milling, turning, grinding) is essential.
  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings is also required.
Benefits:
  • A competitive salary: £43,841.79 per annum (£16.39/hour for days and £21.97/hour for nights).
  • 37.5 contracted hours per week, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including 33 days holiday, annual bonus, and employer pension contribution.
