Job Title: Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Ross Care. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering, collecting, repairing, and servicing wheelchairs to ensure our customers receive the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and collect wheelchairs to and from service users' homes and NHS departments, adhering to our Infection Control Policy.
  • Servicing and repairing wheelchairs in the field, aiming for a first-time fix whenever possible.
  • Ensure accurate completion of paperwork, including parts used and actions taken, to update our database.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed and maintain a tidy vehicle.
  • Participate in out-of-hours duties when rostered and adhere to driving regulations.
  • Maintain a professional customer service attitude and wear uniform and identification badge.
  • Prioritize and organize workload, referring to Line Manager as needed.
  • Ensure the safekeeping of tools and equipment, as outlined in our Company handbook.
Requirements:
  • Full UK driving license
  • Successful enhanced DBS check
  • General workshop knowledge
  • Basic electrical knowledge, including 12v/24v D.C. systems
  • Able to move and handle loads and equipment safely
  • Experience in face-to-face customer contact
  • Previous delivery driver experience
  • Awareness and understanding of people with disabilities
  • Flexible approach to working conditions and environment changes
  • Ability to use own initiative within set boundaries
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
Physical Demands:
  • Moving and handling equipment and accessories following handling guidelines
  • Standing at a bench to work
  • Kneeling/crouching
  • Working in confined spaces if necessary
