Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Paint Sprayer to join our team at an accident repair centre in Ayr. As a Vehicle Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for painting damaged vehicles to a high standard, using up-to-date water-based paint systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Painting damaged vehicles to a high standard
- Preparing vehicles for painting by hand or machine
- Mixing and matching paint by eye or using computer technology to ensure correct colour match
- Applying primer and finishing coats using spray guns and rubbing down surfaces between coats
- Touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles
- Knowledge of blending paintwork is essential
- Removing masking papers before waxing and polishing finished paintwork
- Treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals
- Paint spraying the entire vehicle
- Working in a spray booth to ensure paint is confined to the specific areas
Requirements:
- Car painting and technical knowledge, experience of the accident repair and Bodyshop industry
- Skills in applying and using knowledge to ensure work is finished to a high standard
- Must have own spray guns
- ATA or Level 3 equivalent is an advantage
