Senior Psychiatrist

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work on Norman ward in Green Parks House, Princess Royal University Hospital, providing senior medical cover for 18 acute inpatients.
Main Responsibilities- Provide senior medical cover for 18 acute inpatients on Norman ward.
- Lead a multidisciplinary review meeting of patients on the ward at least three times a week.
- Attend clinical governance meetings to review the quality of care provided by the ward.
- Support and provide a senior clinical view and perspective on issues affecting the ward.
- Ensure effective and appropriate use of medical resources within the team.
- Supervise trainees and non-training medical staff as necessary.
- Ensure that the views of families and carers are sought when making decisions about patient care and discharge planning.
