Job Responsibilities

  • Conducting general nursing duties such as:
  • Wound care
  • Immunizations including childhood and travel vaccinations
  • Health screening
  • QOF
  • ECG recordings
  • Assisting with minor surgery and coil fittings
  • Depo injections and pill checks
  • Requesting pathology test, for example urine culture, swab
  • Testing urine samples
  • Support the Nurse Manager, maintain stock of waiting room leaflets, ordering.
  • Attend practice meetings when required.
  • An opportunity to work out of hours, extended access etc.

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse qualification with a valid nursing license NMC
  • Maintain own professional and personal development in accordance with the NMC Code (2008), standards and professional guidelines.
  • Experience in chronic disease management desirable diabetes, respiratory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Understanding of practice contracts and SNOMED coding
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of clinical systems such as: EMIS Web, Docman, AccuRx and ICE.

  • Previous experience working within a nursing team
