Job Description

Framestore is seeking a highly skilled Lead Compositor to join our team in London. As a key member of our Integrated Advertising Division, you will be responsible for leading a team of compositors and working closely with Visual Effects Supervisors and CG Supervisors to deliver high-end visual effects for TV and film.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Head of 2D and Visual Effects Supervisor to evaluate creative and technical approaches to assigned shots.
  • Provide briefs and direction to the team, ensuring the appropriate execution of shots.
  • Train and mentor junior artists to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Integrate 2D, 3D, and live-action elements to achieve high-end visual effects standards.
  • Meet schedules and show deadlines, communicating effectively with Production and the team.
  • Take responsibility for the team's workload, time management, and feedback actions required by Supervisors.
  • Balance creative and technical aspects of each shot, working with a good knowledge of color space principles.
Essential Skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Nuke and production experience.
  • Experience in a similar position within Episodic or film VFX.
  • Familiarity with stereo compositing and working with multiple render passes.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a team.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Pro-active and collaborative work ethic.
  • Strong eye for detail, composition, color, and lighting.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve.
  • Understanding of color space principles.
  • Working knowledge of the overall VFX pipeline.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of practical lighting for photography.
  • Experience in dealing and communicating with clients.
  • Programming and coding experience and knowledge.
  • Experience working on episodic/long-form projects.
  • On-set experience.
