The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team at our Burton-upon-Trent plant. Your Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the deployment and integration of new technologies and systems.
  2. Conduct thorough tests and evaluations of systems to ensure functionality, efficiency, and security.
  3. Take ownership of all current manufacturing software and shop floor control systems.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and contribute to technology solutions.
  5. Investigate new technology to drive business growth and improvement.
  6. Maintain detailed documentation and backups of systems, configurations, and procedures.
  7. Support regular system upgrades and maintenance activities.
  8. Work with IT to enhance the presentation of live data to the shop floor for better process control and performance.
  9. Work with maintenance personnel to improve knowledge on intermediate to advanced automation, controls, and robotics.
  10. Monitor, fault-find, and repair systems to ensure high equipment availability.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Maintenance Engineering.
  2. Relevant degree in Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  3. Experience in PLC-controlled automation and automated processes.
  4. Proficiency in PLCs (Siemens), HMIs, SCADAs, programming, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
  5. Programming skills in C, SQL, and VB scripting.
  6. Understanding of design and configuration of IP networks.
  7. Professionalism to perform FAT and site commissioning under formal client witnessed conditions.
  8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  9. Strong problem-solving abilities.
