About the Role

As a Track Maintenance Operative with Network Rail, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the rail network. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain, inspect, and repair the track network, including the Permanent Way or P-Way, to prevent accidents and ensure smooth train movement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair track infrastructure, including rails, sleepers, and ballast
  • Inspect track conditions to identify potential hazards and take corrective action
  • Work safely and efficiently in a team environment, adhering to Network Rail's safety standards and procedures
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of track maintenance procedures and best practices

Requirements

  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Basic knowledge of track maintenance procedures and best practices
