About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join our Legal Team at the London Borough of Lewisham. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Adult Social Care Law and be able to work on a hybrid basis, attending the office in Catford twice a week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Senior Social Care Lawyer
  • Handle a demanding and busy caseload of predominantly Adult Social Care matters, including court and advice work
  • Advise Social Services clients in person and in writing, on all aspects of relevant legislation
  • Prepare all legal documentation relevant to the caseload, and in particular prepare a wide variety of court documents, and advise on social care law, and assist the Senior Social Care Lawyers and Principal Lawyer in relation to the most complex or specialised matters as and when required
  • Attend all meetings with clients and external parties, professionals' meetings and panels as required, and advise on all aspects of social services work
  • Carry out legal research
