About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lecturer in Health to join our team at Bournemouth and Poole College. As a Lecturer in Health, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to Level 3 Health Studies students within the Science, Health, and Humanities curriculum area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of educational programmes, including identifying learning objectives, determining, designing, and producing study materials, and planning course/study programme delivery.
  • Teach students in the classroom using a variety of teaching and learning methods, ensuring that teaching is based on current best available practice and is consistent with a high standard of practice.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students in accordance with agreed procedures, manage student issues within agreed protocols, and create learner portfolios to agreed target standards.
  • Demonstrate efficient and effective operation of the teaching and assessment process in line with College policy relating to quality and the requirements of the awarding body representatives.

Requirements:

  • Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain this Qualification within the first two years of service, with the assistance of the College.
  • Level 2 Qualification in English and Mathematics, or be willing to undertake the Qualification whilst in post, within 2 years.
  • Degree, or Professional Qualification, which is appropriate for the role.
  • Knowledge of professional practice of working within the Health/Medical sector.
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude to working with students of all ages, primarily 16-19 year olds.
