Job Overview

A dynamic role has become available in our organization as a Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist for the London South East region. This position plays a pivotal part in ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across multiple sites.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety legislation, with experience in managing projects and delivering effective training programs. As a Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist, you will work closely with site management teams to support compliance, lead safety initiatives, and drive continuous improvement within the organization.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Implement SHE Requirements: Ensure that all SHE requirements are met in line with company and legal standards.
  • Conduct IMS Audits: Conduct audits as part of the Global Audit Program (QSHE) to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead Training Programs: Develop and deliver Safety and Health leadership training programs to equip employees with the necessary skills to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Incident Investigation: Support site management in investigating incidents and developing remedial actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Fire Risk Assessments: Conduct Fire Risk Assessments and assist with improvements where needed to mitigate risks.
  • Benchmarking Audits: Manage and execute benchmarking audits of selected sites to identify best practices and areas for improvement.
  • Courses Delivery: Deliver IOSH Managing Safely courses across designated areas to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
  • Governance and Knowledge-Sharing: Contribute to QSHE governance and participate in knowledge-sharing within the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with external authorities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Your Skills and Experiences:
  • NEBOSH Certification: Possess NEBOSH Level 3 certification, with preference given to those holding a NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma.
  • Regional Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a regional role, ideally in logistics or supply chain.
  • Health and Safety Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and its application.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage projects and deliver effective training programs.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and course authoring software.
  • Train-the-Trainer Certification: Hold Train-the-Trainer certification (preferred).
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills with a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
