Job Summary:

u&i Search is seeking a highly skilled Garment Technologist to fill a maternity cover position. As a key member of our client's technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver accurate and comprehensive technical packs for each season, translating design vision into quality products with consistent fit.
  • Collaborate closely with the design and technical teams to ensure products are fit for production and that factories have all necessary comments and information to deliver quality products.
  • Test and evaluate garments across a range of sizes, making recommendations for amendments as needed.
  • Conduct thorough testing on new products, trims, and fabrics to ensure they meet market standards.
  • Manage label and packaging processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Carry out wearer trials on new product developments to ensure they perform correctly and meet quality standards.
  • Perform risk assessments on quality and production issues for every product prior to production.
  • Assist with the quality control process.
  • Review pre-production samples to ensure they meet production standards and work closely with suppliers on any problem styles that could affect delivery.
  • Verify that bulk fabrics, photo samples, pre-prod samples, and sealers meet technical specifications and perform to care label requirements.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in high-quality women's wear.
  • Extensive knowledge of technical product construction, legislation, fabrics, and clothing production processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of grading, fitting, and pattern adjustments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel-based workbooks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
