Senior Language Consultant

At Language Empire, we are seeking a skilled linguist to provide high-quality interpreting services to various clients across the UK.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be proficient in English and an additional language.

As a freelance interpreter, you will work on a self-employed basis, providing interpreting services to clients in a variety of settings, including the NHS, local authorities, police, probation, and other public and private organizations.

Your duties will include interpreting for individuals using legal, health, and local government services, checking the non-English speaker's understanding after each sentence, and liaising between the service user and service provider.

Requirements for this role include fluency in English and another language, the right to work in the UK, and a minimum age of 21.

Formal qualifications, such as a diploma in public service interpreting or a degree in translation/interpreting/languages, are advantageous but not essential.
