Electrical Estimator Wanted for High-End Residential Projects

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team at Streamline Services Consultancy Limited. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate and reliable estimates for high-end residential electrical projects.

About the Role
  • Review project documentation and verify against the Drawing Register to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform take-offs and assess project complexity, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze specifications and project documentation to ensure that all requirements are met.
  • Send enquiries to specialists and issue RFIs as required to clarify any doubts or discrepancies.
  • Input data into Cypher estimating software to produce detailed and accurate estimates.
  • Prepare tender letters and summaries for submission to clients, highlighting the value proposition of our services.
  • Lead pre-bid meetings with management to discuss project details and strategies.
  • Participate in pre-, mid-, and post-tender meetings to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Conduct Value Engineering analysis on tenders when necessary to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Attend site visits during tender stages to gain a deeper understanding of the project requirements and complexities.
  • Ensure smooth handover of secured projects to the Contracts Manager, ensuring continuity and success.
  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations for accuracy and compliance, selecting the most suitable options for each project.
  • Occasionally assist with large project variations, working closely with the project team to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in estimating, preferably with a focus on electrical projects.
  • Apprenticeship background is desirable but not essential; relevant industry experience and skills are equally valuable.
  • Familiarity with Cypher estimating software is highly desirable but not essential; proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel, is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with high-end residential projects is desirable but not essential.
Package and Benefits
  • Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Bonus: Annual performance bonus tied to individual and company performance.
  • Holidays: 22 days, increasing by 1 day annually (up to 30 days), plus Bank Holidays.
  • Half-day off on your birthday (weekday only).
