Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Academics Ltd is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Abingdon.
The successful applicant will provide one-to-one support to a non-verbal Year 2 student with Autism and a Global Development diagnosis. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the student's life and contribute to their academic and personal growth.
Job Overview:This role involves working closely with the classroom teacher to develop and implement individualized learning plans that meet the student's unique needs. The successful applicant will have experience working with children with similar diagnoses and hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate.
Responsibilities:Key responsibilities include:
- Providing emotional support and stability to the student
- Assisting the student with their daily routines and activities
- Helping the student to access the curriculum and participate in lessons
- Maintaining accurate records of the student's progress and communicating regularly with parents/carers
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Experience working with children with Autism and other SEN diagnoses
- A strong understanding of child development and learning theories
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid enhanced DBS certificate
