Job Title: Chemistry Instructor
Location: Sheffield, The University of Sheffield International College
Contract Type: Variable hours, permanent
Salary: £ 37.89 per teaching hour
The Study Group is seeking a Chemistry instructor to join the Science Team and teach the Foundation Level Chemistry module. The role involves teaching Chemistry to international students in classroom and laboratory settings, marking assessments, and providing feedback. Proficiency in IT skills related to teaching is essential, including Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs). Responsibilities may also include acting as a module coordinator, leading the teaching team, carrying out Quality Assurance, updating teaching materials, and creating assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Chemistry to international students in classroom and laboratory settings
- Mark assessments and provide feedback
- Use IT skills related to teaching, including VLEs
- Potentially act as module coordinator
- Lead the teaching team and carry out Quality Assurance procedures
- Update teaching materials and create assessments
Requirements:
- Degree in Chemistry or a related discipline
- Experience teaching Chemistry in Higher Education, Further Education, or Sixth form
- Experience in assessment marking
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills
