Senior Compensation and Risk Analyst

As a key player in the net-zero transition, we're ensuring the energy supplies required to meet customer needs, procuring fuel for generation plants, and selling power output from renewable and low-carbon thermal assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a critical role in the business as a senior member of the team, responsible for economic valuation and risk analysis of long-term structured deals and new asset opportunities in GB, Ireland, and Europe.
  • Assess risks associated with structured power deals, including liquidity, shape, capture, and imbalance, and evaluate valuation models used for trading and hedging in wholesale energy markets.
  • Provide quantitative modelling expertise and collaborate with commercial quantitative teams to progress pricing assumptions and valuation and risk models.
  • Develop tools for ongoing long-term portfolio reviews and produce analysis and insight to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements
  • Strong mathematical modelling, business analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Coding knowledge (Python or equivalent) is highly beneficial.
  • Energy market risk knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of European wholesale energy markets and market risk fundamentals.
  • Professional qualifications such as the FRM or ERP qualification from the Global Association of Risk Professional (or equivalent) would be advantageous.
