About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bakery Technologist to join our Waitrose Quality & Technical team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing product and supplier performance to ensure compliance with Waitrose quality, safety, legality, and integrity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage product and supplier performance to ensure compliance with Waitrose quality, safety, legality, and integrity standards.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal and external networks to influence development of standards relevant to the bakery category.
  • Manage and develop the technical relationship with Waitrose suppliers and identify product or supplier risks within the category trading area.
  • Onboard new suppliers in line with Waitrose Technical standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in food science or equivalent experience in technical within the food and grocery industry.
  • At least 2 years of technical experience within the food industry.
  • Passion for product and quality.
  • HACCP training.
  • Specialist training in allergens, microbiology, specification management, and product labelling legal requirements.
  • Supplier management and technical development.
