About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our dynamic healthcare team as an Agency General Major Scrub. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and sterile environment in the operating theatre, assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, and providing high-quality care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating theatre for surgeries by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, retractor, and other necessary items.
- Monitor patients throughout the surgical process, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and positive surgical outcomes.
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced staff members.
Requirements:
- Registered (RN/RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) qualification.
- Valid and clear registration with the NMC or HCPC.
- Proven experience in a Scrub role (Minimum 6 months).
- Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
